Q: Can you describe your role at SmartEquip?

A: I oversee the closing of our books each month to be sure that all of our operations are recorded in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and I prepare the Financial Statements and variance analyses. I also work with our counterparts at Ritchie Bros. to be sure that our financial statements consolidate into the parent company’s SEC reporting properly.

Q: What is the most rewarding project you’ve worked on at SmartEquip?

A: There are two major SE Accomplishments that I was heavily involved with – The first being the aforementioned partnership with Ritchie Bros. and the purchase accounting and integrations that go along with that. The second being the implementation of the new revenue system in 2022. A quoted 6 week implementation took almost a year to properly build out the complexities of all of our contracts, with customer acceptance and go live timings, in the new system.
Q: What is your best workplace memory?

A:I really enjoy team dinners. Not only am I a foodie – but seeing my team in another atmosphere and meeting their outside-of-work personalities makes me adore them that much more.

Q: What are you reading or listening to (book, podcast, music) right now?
 
A: I just finished re-reading the Chronos Files series by Rysa Walker and I am looking for my next read. I love time-travel books and although this series is probably filed as young-adult, the character build and complications are as addicting as they are endearing.
Q: Do you have any exciting Summer plans?

A:I took my kids (6 & 8) camping for the first time last summer and they loved it – Hoping to get in a trip in August. I’m also overly excited about a Matchbox 20 concert this weekend – We bought tickets for the summer of 2020 and after multiple reschedulings it is finally happening!
Q: What is the most unique item on or near your WFH desk/set up or new office desk set up?

A:My  "I’m positively bedeviled with meetings et cetera" – Moira Rose sign!
